“Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing.”

~ Benjamin Franklin

I ventured into storytelling by writing a children’s story over 10 years ago.
It sat on my computer until a few years a go when a friend suggested I try to publish it. So, here is the result.
Two of a Kind is about Foster care and adoption. Obviously close to my heart, if you read My Story.
My intention is to provide a simple insight for children around the topic but also instil hope of family.
It is my first foray into the world of publishing.
I have other projects on the go. Quite honestly, I believe we all have a writer within us, it is just getting the words started and out onto the page.

Two of a Kind

Two OF A Kind Book Cover

This book is the heart-warming foster care and adoption story of a young girl’s (and a little cat’s) quest for a forever home.

Two of a Kind is about foster care and adoption, family diversity, wanting to belong, friendship, sadness, loss, kindness to people and animals, and connection and love. The book is designed to teach children about hope.

From the onset, Irene felt that the story should be illustrated by a child. She reached out to Mackillop Family Services and found Lindsay, a young girl who has been growing up in the foster care system.

Available in Hardback and Paperback formats from this website and Amazon, and as an eBook (Kindle) from Amazon.

$1 from every copy sold is donated to Mackillop Family Services to help children develop to their potential in supportive and nurturing families.
